Unforgettable Moments Await: Barstool Classic Tees Off at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club

The Barstool Classic, featuring 26 events played from South Carolina to California, is golf’s most popular tournament series, and the 2024 schedule will tee off at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.

With Caledonia, a consensus top 100 public course in the leadoff spot, all 26 Barstool Classic events sold out in minutes, highlighting the appeal of the tournaments and the ForePlay podcast team of Trent, Riggs, Frankie and Dan Rapaport.

Caledonia will host the first leg of the Barstool Classic on March 5, treating players to a Mike Strantz design that has long been one of the Myrtle Beach area’s premier courses. Ranked No. 46 on Golfweek’s list of America’s top 200 resort courses, Caledonia treats golfers to a round that features Lowcountry beauty and Strantz’s architectural genius.

Set on just 120 acres of land, Strantz carved the unforgettable design between centuries-old live oak trees draped in Spanish moss and around the area’s native wetlands and water. According to Golfweek, Caledonia is the third best public course in South Carolina and the highest ranked Myrtle Beach design, trailing only Kiawah’s Ocean Course and Harbour Town Golf Links.

While the layout will delight Barstool Classic players throughout the round, Caledonia’s back nine is an unforgettable stretch as the drama builds with each hole. The par 3 11th, featuring a creek that meanders from tee to green, is a treat to play and it’s just the beginning of the good times Strantz provides.

By the time players arrive at the acclaimed 18th hole, preparing for an approach shot over water to a green residing in the shadow of the course’s stately clubhouse, Caledonia’s many virtues are abundantly clear.

Joining Caledonia as Barstool Classic host courses are TPC Sugarloaf, TPC Boston, the Nicklaus Course at PGA West, We-Ko-Pa’s Saguaro Course, and Pine Needles. The series will culminate with The Barstool Classic Championship Nov. 18-20 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Caledonia and its sister course, True Blue Golf Club, are both ranked among South Carolina’s top 5 public designs. While Caledonia features an intimate routing, True Blue is a modern layout, challenging players with sweeping fairways framed by waste bunkers and large undulating greens.

The two courses delight golfers with contrasting but equally enjoyable experiences.
