The kickoff to the 2024 Barstool Classic at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club Tuesday set a spectacular tone for a tournament series that has evolved into one of amateur golf’s premier competitions.
Now in its sixth year, the Barstool Classic chose for the third straight year to kick off its wildly popular event series in the Myrtle Beach area. Caledonia joined Grande Dunes Resort Club (2022) and sister course True Blue Golf (2023) as Grand Strand hosts.
And there was no better stage than a Mike Strantz-designed masterpiece to set the tone for this nationwide, 25-event competition that includes stops in Atlanta, Birmingham, Austin, Scottsdale, Palm Springs, Denver, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Boston and Nashville, as well as other markets.
A full field of two-person teams competed at 50-percent handicap in a four-ball, stroke play format. The top four team net scores from each qualifier will advance to the season-ending Barstool Classic Championship Nov. 18-20 in Scottsdale.
