Pawleys Island, SC– The nationally acclaimed Caledonia Golf & Fish Club is preparing for the return of the 2nd Annual Future Generations Tournament on July 30th. The event is organized by The First Tee of The Grand Strand and will be co-hosted by Kelly Tilghman and Charlie Rymer of The Golf Channel. Both have strong ties to the area and to junior golf. They will be joined by local golf professional Gene Weldon, a long time champion of junior golf programs.

The event promises a fun-filled day to help young people and to celebrate the life of the late Todd Welden, former head professional at Caledonia, and the impact he had on The Grand Strand golfing community. PGA Director of Golf Operations Bob Seganti remarked, “We have been looking forward to the return of this event. It is an honor and privilege to host an event that benefits young people and pays tribute to our dear friend Todd Welden.”

The First Tee of The Grand Strand annually impacts the lives of over 8,000 children between the ages of 7 and 17. Through the game of golf, participants learn The First Tee’s Nine Core Values and Life Skills that will guide them throughout their lives. Our 150 committed volunteers help expose young people to The First Tee’s Nine Core Values on a daily basis throughout Horry and Georgetown counties.

The First Tee relies on corporate and community support to achieve their goals of impacting, influencing and inspiring as many children as possible in these counties.
